Earthquake Mod - The "Realism & Performance" Update
This major update focuses on making earthquakes feel visceral and terrifying while significantly improving server performance.
🚀 Performance Optimizations
- Zero-Lag Surface Detection: Replaced expensive block scanning with instant heightmap lookups.
- Memory Optimization: Drastically reduced object allocation during earthquakes to prevent lag spikes.
- Config Control: The
performanceMultiplierandmaxBlockOperationsPerTickconfig settings are now fully integrated, allowing you to tune the mod for your specific server hardware.
🌪️ Immersive Realism
- Realistic Screen Shake: Replaced the old "jittery" camera with a smooth, sine-wave based motion that simulates the ground rolling beneath you.
- Widespread Effects: Smoke and dust particles now rise from the cracks throughout the entire earthquake radius, creating a chaotic atmosphere.
- Indoor Ambience: Added falling dust particles from ceilings when you are indoors or underground.
- Physical Disruption: Earthquakes now physically push you around. Walking in a straight line during a high-intensity quake is now a challenge!
⚡ Gameplay Changes
- Intensity Overhaul: The intensity scale has been reworked. Intensity 1 is now significant (comparable to the old Intensity 10), and Intensity 20 is absolutely catastrophic.
- Better Animal AI: Animals now react realistically to tremors. They will stop their normal AI and run around in blind panic during an event.
- Destruction: Enhanced physics for toppling trees and ground cracks.
